Four people have been arrested and suspected class A drugs with an estimated street value of \u00a3500,000 seized in Co Armagh.<\/p>\n
Police said a stop and search was carried out on a vehicle on the Northway in Portadown, just before 5pm on Friday.<\/p>\n
A PSNI spokesman said: \u201cThe two occupants of the car: a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of a number of drug-related offences and conveyed to custody where they have since been released on bail pending further police inquiries.<\/p>\n
\u201cA short time later, two men were stopped acting suspiciously within the vicinity of church grounds in the Garvaghy area.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing a search of the surrounding area a significant quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs were seized.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe men, aged 20 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A controlled drug. They remain in custody at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police said follow-up searches at properties in Garvaghy and Craigavon resulted in the seizure of a sum of cash and a quantity of suspected Class A.<\/p>\n
The spokesman added: \u201cWe will continue to tackle the supply, use and harm caused by illegal drugs in Northern Ireland and we\u2019re grateful for the support of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The PSNI said anyone with information or concerns should contact them on 101.<\/p>\n
