Chris Davies says Birmingham City\u2019s<\/a> battering at Bramall Lane was \u2018the worst afternoon\u2019 of his managerial career.<\/p>\n Sheffield United routed Blues 3-0<\/a> in their final game before Christmas<\/a> after Davies\u2019 team pressed the self-destruct button.<\/p>\n Tyler Bindon and Gustavo Hamer were gifted goals either side of a rash challenge from Tommy Doyle which resulted in him being sent off. Patrick Bamford added the third just after half-time.<\/p>\n Davies reflected: \u201cProbably the worst afternoon since I’ve been here. Difficult to take and we have to be honest around that because for a team that has not been fantastic away from home, we made too many mistakes.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was the worst possible start. Everything we’ve been talking about, working on, preparing for was undermined really in the first few minutes because we conceded in the fifth minute from a corner. One of the worst corner goals we’ve conceded organisationally and strength-wise.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was far too easy for the opposition to score and then on 18 minutes obviously a goal down and a man down because of a red card.\u201d<\/p>\n Blues have now lost eight of their 12 away games in the Championship and have slipped to 14th in the table.<\/p>\n The away fans voiced their displeasure when Davies and his players approached them at full-time.<\/p>\n Addressing that, Davies said: \u201cWell, I love the fans. I think they’re brilliant and the vast, vast, vast majority are incredibly, really supportive and clapping and there’s a minority there, I’m sure, but they’re great. I love the fans.<\/p>\n \u201cWe can only say we wish we could give them more, basically, because they travel in their numbers, every away end is packed out and they’ve travelled again today, spent their money, travelled up the road and not got something for it. So, I do feel for them and we have to repay them with our efforts, first and foremost, but also give them something to show for their support. But the fans are great.<\/p>\n \u201cWe’ve got three of our next four games are at home. Hopefully we can put this right in those games.\u201d<\/p>\n What do you make of Davies’ comments?
