{"id":644930,"date":"2025-12-20T21:13:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-20T21:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/644930\/"},"modified":"2025-12-20T21:13:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-20T21:13:11","slug":"prince-george-joins-prince-of-wales-in-visit-to-homelessness-charity-uk-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/644930\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince George joins Prince of Wales in visit to homelessness charity | UK news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Prince George joined his father the Prince of Wales on a visit to a homelessness project to help with Christmas lunch preparations in London.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk\/prince-william\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince William<\/a> took his son to the Passage Charity in central London, more than 30 years since he first visited with his mother, Diana the Princess of Wales.<\/p>\n<p>The father and son donned aprons as William poured brussels sprouts on to an oven dish and George laid Yorkshire puddings out on to a tray ahead of cooking.<\/p>\n<p>In a video posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales\u2019s YouTube account on Saturday, William and his eldest child, 12, were seen chatting to guests, decorating a Christmas tree and helping to lay the table.<\/p>\n<p>A post on the Prince and Princess of Wales\u2019 X account said: \u201cProud to join volunteers and staff at The Passage in preparing Christmas lunch \u2013 this year with another pair of helping hands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Prince of Wales and Prince George with Brain and Sarah, service users of the passage in central London. Photograph: Andrew Parsons\/Kensington Palace<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">In the footage, William, 43, rubbed The Passage\u2019s head chef Claudette Hawkins\u2019 shoulders and George laughed as he helped prepare other vegetables for the roast dinner.<br \/>Visiting the shelter in Victoria during the Christmas period has become a tradition for the Prince of Wales, after he also helped out in 2023 and 2024. His first visit in 1993 came as an 11-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>William is the charity\u2019s royal patron and with his own Homewards project he aims to help eradicate homelessness in all its forms.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, he told the ITV1 documentary Prince William: We Can End <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/homelessness\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Homelessness<\/a> how his first visit to The Passage had impacted him.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cI remember at the time kind of thinking, well, if everyone\u2019s not got a home, they\u2019re all going to be really sad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it was incredible how happy an environment it was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember having some good conversations just playing chess and chatting.
