Alexander Isak suffered a serious-looking injury during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory against Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday and could be out of action for a while<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak is expected to be out of action for several months after suffering a suspected broken leg on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Isak<\/a> scored Liverpool’s opening goal in the 2-1 Premier League win against Tottenham. While striking the ball, the Swedish striker was clattered into by Spurs defender Micky van de Ven<\/a> and played no further part in the game, leaving Liverpool<\/a> extremely concerned.<\/p>\n

Arne Slot refused to comment on the severity of Isak’s injury after Saturday’s game, but he admitted it’s “never good when a player has to come off.” Losing the \u00a3125 million ($167 million) striker for an extended period of time would be a huge blow for the Reds.<\/p>\n

According to The Athletic<\/a>, Liverpool believes Isak has suffered a suspected broken leg. The Reds are concerned about the condition of the player’s lower left leg.<\/p>\n

Liverpool is yet to discover the true extent of Isak’s injury. But if he has suffered a broken leg, he is likely to be out of action for at least a few months, perhaps longer.<\/p>\n

Slot was asked about the fitness of Isak, Conor Bradley, and Jeremie Frimpong after the win at Tottenham. Bradley and Frimpong were also taken out of the game after picking up injuries, although the latter’s substitution was down to him being on a yellow card.<\/p>\n

“We’ll have to wait and see,” Slot told the BBC. “It is too short after the game to speak about it, but it is never good when a player has to come off.<\/p>\n

“I took Frimpong off because I did not want to be with 10 men, so that injury is fine. The other two (Isak and Bradley), we’ll have to wait and see. The good thing is that we have a week to go, so hopefully we have enough players available to play next week again.”<\/p>\n

Florian Wirtz, who provided the assist for Isak’s goal, and Alisson were also asked about the striker’s condition after the game.<\/p>\n

“With Alex, it\u2019s a bit unlucky. I hope it\u2019s not too bad, but we have to wait for that,” Wirtz told LFCTV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I think the others (Bradley and Frimpong) are not too bad, but hopefully Alex will be back soon.”<\/p>\n

Alisson said: “I think he\u2019ll be okay. Happy for him for scoring the goal, but, of course, we don\u2019t want him to be injured.<\/p>\n

“Hopefully it\u2019s just a knock, nothing too serious, because he can help our team so much with his quality, and that\u2019s what we hope.”<\/p>\n

Isak became Liverpool’s record signing following his transfer from Newcastle in September, but he is still searching for his best form at Anfield.
