Golf veteran Lanny Wadkins believes the likes of Brooks Koepka, <\/a>Bryson DeChambeau,<\/a> and Jon Rahm <\/a>should face punishments before being able to make a return to the PGA Tour.<\/a><\/p>\n DeChambeau, who recently labeled a LIV Golf course “diabolical”<\/a>, and Koepka, who recently admitted the elephant in the room,<\/a> were among those handed bans from the PGA Tour for opting to make the move to LIV Golf.<\/a> They were given hope of a possible return, though in June 2023, after the PGA Tour announced a shock framework agreement<\/a> with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n It was expected that, as part of a deal, that those who played on the LIV setup would be able to make a return<\/a> to their former tour, but almost two years on, an official deal is yet to be signed off.<\/p>\n READ MORE: LIV Golf star has earned almost double every PGA Tour star apart from Rory McIlroy in 2025<\/a>READ MORE: PGA Tour star makes announcement about wife days after missing out on $720K<\/a><\/p>\n It remains to be seen when or if an agreement will be passed by both sides, but if this is the case, Wadkins believes those who defected should not be given a free passage to return. “I would like to see Jon Rahm and Koepka and DeChambeau play more often,\u201d Wadkins said on Golf Channel.<\/p>\n \u201cThat would be nice. But there\u2019s also got to be repercussions.\u201d He continued: “I don\u2019t think you can just go to LIV, take $100m and walk back in and expect to have the same status you\u2019ve always had on this tour. That\u2019s not fair to the guys who supported the tour and have been here the whole time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhether it\u2019s fines, suspensions,” Wadkins continued. “Whatever for it to work and I\u2019ll be damned if I can figure it out. Good luck to the guys trying.\u201d Amid the lack of progress around the negotiation table, the PGA Tour opted to seek the help of President Donald Trump.<\/a><\/p>\n Trump has close ties to both sides, and it is hoped he can be a mediator between the Tour and those involved with the Saudi fund.
