Kate Middleton<\/a> brought a bit of holiday joy to the hospital where she received cancer treatment.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n On Dec. 16, the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust<\/a> shared a photo of a vibrantly decorated Christmas tree donated by the Princess of Wales, 43 \u2014\u00a0who was diagnosed with cancer<\/a> in January 2024 \u2014\u00a0standing near the entrance of the Oak Cancer Centre in Sutton, England.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cThank you to HRH The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden with HRH The Prince of Wales, for donating a majestic Christmas tree from the \u2018Together at Christmas\u2019 carol service, held at Westminster Abbey earlier this month,\u201d the foundation, a leading cancer research and treatment center, wrote on Instagram<\/a>.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n In January, Kate and her husband, Prince William<\/a>, made the decision to serve as patrons of the hospital<\/a>, where she received cancer treatments<\/a> for much of 2024. At the time, she made a surprise visit to the hospital to \u201cshow her gratitude to the incredible team\u201d at the medical center, a spokesman for Kensington Palace shared.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Before finding a new home at the cancer center, the tree was used to decorate Kate\u2019s fifth annual \u201cTogether at Christmas\u201d<\/a> carol service on Dec. 5 at Westminster Abbey in London. Indeed, George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7, were each photographed writing their names on pieces of colored parchment pieces before adding them to a long chain that would then line a Christmas tree outside Westminster Abbey.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n A few days after the service, Emily Taylor, who had been invited alongside her husband James to represent kids\u2019 hospice T\u0177 Hafan<\/a> in South Wales, told PEOPLE that experiencing the celebration alongside the royal family<\/a> was \u201cmonumental.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cIt was one of those moments when you\u2019re trying to take everything in,\u201d she said. \u201cTo actually see the Prince and the Princess and their children walking in together in these grand surroundings. It felt so monumental. I was just trying to take it all in.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cYou see them, and they are a parent and their children,\u201d she added. \u201cYou just realize they are just humans, a mom and a dad with their children.\u201d<\/p>\n
