Steven Gerrard<\/a> has offered himself to Liverpool \u201cin any department at any minute of every day,\u201d making clear his desire to \u201chelp them in anything\u201d while backing Arne Slot<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

It is no secret that Gerrard\u2019s ultimate goal is to become Liverpool manager.<\/p>\n

But whether that will become a reality is doubtful at this stage, with the 45-year-old out of work for almost a year after failed stints at Aston Villa<\/a> and Al-Ettifaq and in no rush to return to football.<\/p>\n

However, speaking to Ally McCoist in an episode of TNT Sports\u2019 Ally\u2019s Social Club, Gerrard declared himself available to his beloved club in any job they would require him in.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be brutally, brutally honest with you: I\u2019d help Liverpool in any department at any minute of every day. I\u2019d help them in anything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want the Liverpool manager to lose his job, I want Arne Slot<\/a> to fix this and turn it around and make Liverpool great.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was bouncing all over the city four, five months ago when Liverpool won the league. I\u2019m a Liverpool fan, I want the best for Liverpool.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut if Liverpool need me, in any department at any time, I\u2019ll be there for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Why Steven Gerrard is not currently coaching<\/p>\n

There had been suggestions that, when Slot was facing mounting pressure during Liverpool\u2019s woeful run of form, Gerrard could even be targeted as an interim head coach.<\/p>\n

Clearly that did not transpire and the Dutchman has since turned things around with the Reds currently on a six-game unbeaten run.<\/p>\n

Instead Gerrard is keeping his options open while not actively searching for his next managerial role, insisting he was \u201cnot down the Job Centre.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf that right opportunity, or that feeling that I got when I first bounced into Rangers, doesn\u2019t come then I\u2019m fine,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not searching for a job, I\u2019m not down the Job Centre for what\u2019s available. I\u2019m not hoping \u2018that one might come available\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy life\u2019s great, my family life\u2019s great, I\u2019m enjoying doing [media work], I\u2019ve got a lot going on. My life\u2019s good, I\u2019m fine.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the right football project comes up, the hunger\u2019s back, it\u2019s there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gerrard last worked for Liverpool in the role of U18s coach for a season-and-a-half between January 2017 and taking the Rangers job in the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n
