A driver has died following a medical emergency in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n The male driver was found by paramedics in a critical condition on Wake Green Road in Moseley at 7.28am today, Monday, December 22.<\/p>\n Nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/strong>Moseley police scene live as road blocked following crash<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Police sealed off the road for several hours following the incident, which was reported as a collision by West Midlands Roads.<\/p>\n A West Midlands Ambulance Service<\/a> spokesperson told BirminghamLive: “We were called to reports of a medical emergency in a car on Wake Green Road, Moseley<\/a> at 7.28am today.<\/p>\n “An ambulance, paramedic officer, a trauma team and a BASICS doctor responded.<\/p>\n “The driver of a car, a man, was in a critical condition.<\/p>\n “Despite the best efforts of ambulance staff nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene a short time later.”<\/p>\n Drivers were urged to avoid the area following the incident.<\/p>\n The number 1 and 41 bus services were diverted away from the scene.<\/p>\n In an earlier statement, a spokesperson for West Midlands Roads said: “Road traffic collision on Wake Green Road near School Road junction.<\/p>\n “Road partially blocked.<\/p>\n “Plan Ahead. Allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes where possible.”<\/p>\n
