A SHOP was firebombed just days after two men were jailed for a vicious machete attack that left the store\u2019s owner without a leg.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Two men <\/a>were seen getting out of a black Audi and witnesses say \u201cthrew a petrol bomb\u201d inside the Day Today store in Ladymuir Crescent, Pollock, Glasgow<\/a> yesterday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\tSign up for Scottish Sun newsletter\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\tThank you!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The shop at the centre of a machete attack was targeted on SundayCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd.<\/p>\n It comes four days after two gangsters were jailed for a total of 27 years for a horror machete attack <\/a>that left shopkeeper Mohammed Arif, 37, needing his leg amputated.\u00a0<\/p>\n Liam McDonald, 36, and Dylan Haldane, 37, were part of a four-strong mob who donned forensic suits and masks and carried out \u201ca carefully planned hit job\u201d outside Mr Arif\u2019s Day Today store on August 13, 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n Yesterday the same shop was targeted again when it was set on fire in a brazen broad daylight attack. <\/p>\n One neighbour said: \u201cI\u2019ve heard it was a petrol bomb and they drove up, got out and threw it inside while the shop was still open.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t MOLOTOV MAYHEM<\/p>\n Ex-soldier threw petrol bombs at Scots police HQ & officer in horror attack<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t HOUSE HORROR<\/p>\n My house was destroyed in petrol bombing case of mistaken identity<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s terrible. Someone could have been hurt or killed. No one knows who it was but it\u2019s not the first time something bad has happened at that shop.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year the high\u00a0court\u00a0<\/a>heard how the men were armed with The attack \u2013 captured on shocking\u00a0CCTV\u00a0<\/a>footage \u2013 occurred outside Mr Arif\u2019s Day-Today store.<\/p>\n The court heard how their victim was injured so badly he ended up having to have his left leg amputated above the knee.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMost read in The Scottish Sun\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Both McDonald, 36, and Haldane, 37 \u2013 who have accumulated almost 70 convictions between them \u2013 were found guilty following a trial earlier this year.<\/p>\n Judge Norman McFadyen jailed McDonald for 14 years whilst Haldane was given 13 years.<\/p>\n Telling them they\u2019d also be subjected to three years of post release supervision, judge McFadyen said: \u201cYou inflicted injuries on him which were life changing.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was a carefully planned hit job. You are both hardened criminals.\u201d<\/p>\n Today cops were making door-to-door enquires and appealed for cctv and witnesses to come forward following the blaze attack.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for Police<\/a> Scotland said: \u201cDetectives are appealing for information after a wilful fire-raising in the Pollok area of Glasgow.<\/p>\n \u201cAround 1.40pm on Sunday, 21 December, 2025, we received a report of a fire at a premises on Ladymuir Crescent.<\/p>\n \u201cEmergency services attended, and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire <\/a>and Rescue Service.
