A pensioner has died after a horror motorbike crash on a busy Glasgow street<\/a>. The elderly woman passed away following the smash on Pollokshaws Road in the south side of the city on Friday, December 12.<\/p>\n The incident <\/a>happened around 7.45pm and involved the 74-year-old woman, who was walking along the road at the time, and a Triumph Bonneville motorbike on the A77 Pollokshaws Road at the junction with Queen Square.<\/p>\n Emergency services raced to the scene and both the pedestrian and the 52-year-old male rider were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital<\/a> for treatment.<\/p>\n The woman sadly could not survive her injuries and died in hospital nine days later, on Sunday, December 21. Her family<\/a> has been informed and has asked for privacy.<\/p>\n The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 12.30am on Saturday, December 13. Police Scotland say their thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died in the crash.<\/p>\n The force is now asking anyone who saw the event unfold and hasn’t already spoken to cops to come forward.<\/p>\n Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash <\/a>and hasn\u2019t already spoken to officers to contact us.<\/p>\n
