A manhunt is ongoing<\/p>\n

A man has been stabbed on Breck Road in Anfield. The road has been closed for several hours while a manhunt is ongoing to find his attacker. At around 11pm on Monday, December 22, Merseyside Police were called to Breck Road in Anfield<\/a> with reports that a man, aged in his 50s, had been attacked by another man.<\/p>\n

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. An investigation is ongoing to find the person responsible for the attack and officers remain at the scene to carry out initial inquiries.<\/p>\n

Breck Road in Anfield remains closed on Tuesday morning from Oakfield Road to Lower Breck Road<\/a>, with a large cordon in place and blood can be seen on the floor. Belmont Road and Walton<\/a> Breck Road are also closed.<\/p>\n

Pictures show the scene on Breck Road on Monday night, which have been shared by an ECHO reader.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said: \u201cWe are in the early stages of the investigation to establish the circumstances of what has taken place.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Breck Road last night and had saw what happened or has any information to come forward and speak to us.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also urge people in the area to check your CCTV and dashcam to see if it has captured any footage, no matter how small, as any information may help with the investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand the devastating consequences of carrying a knife and are relentless in our approach to targeting and pursuing criminals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe use of knives and any weapons is reckless and will not be tolerated, and can have tragic consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no place for knives in our communities. I would urge anyone with information to get in touch so we can act on community intelligence or call Crimestoppers anonymously.\u201d<\/p>\n
