TikTok star Made by Mitchell has closed his first-ever store after hundreds queued just weeks ago at its opening. The TV star, who appeared on BBC<\/a>‘s Glow-Up, had been teasing his millions of followers about his newest venture for months.<\/p>\n

Come Saturday, November 15, the wait was finally over to much to the delight of all his followers. The 26-year-old had officially opened the doors to his Liverpool shop inside The Metquarter, a move he previously told the ECHO “only felt right”.<\/p>\n

However, fast forward to now, and The Cat in the Hat inspired pop-up shop has run its course and has now shut. Posting a video to TikTok captioned ‘I’m closing my first ever store\u2026 let’s talk about it’, he said: “I’m actually quite sad because I have had the best few weeks.<\/p>\n

“Being in the store the last six or seven weeks from start to finish, I’ve learnt so much about how you guys want to shop, the products you want to buy, and the things you think are missing. I will be forever grateful for this experience of having our own shop.<\/p>\n

“The shop will still be there, so it might still look like we are operating a shop. However, things are changing in the new year. The space is going to be used for more intimate experiences like masterclasses, one-to-ones and makeup appointments.<\/p>\n

“When we do launch our big collections, which is usually at the end of every month, we will then open our doors again and then you can come and shop.”<\/p>\n

The makeup guru revealed how in 2026 he will be flying to America to launch Made by Mitchell in over 700 spots. He added: “We are all over the world and so my time is so precious. I want to use my time to create as much impact in as many places as physically possible.”<\/p>\n

Mitchell founded his brand<\/a> in 2020, and it wasn’t long before he took the industry by storm. In just one day, mainly thanks to his TikTok shop,<\/a> the business made \u00a31m.<\/p>\n

In a separate, week-long campaign, the brand made \u00a32m. The beauty guru’s cosmetics company, renowned for its Blursh Balm and Curve Case, is loved by many due to its distinctive and colourful appearances.<\/p>\n

On the initial opening date, queues gathered inside the shopping complex and out the side of it, with several in line telling the ECHO<\/a> they had been there since 5am.<\/p>\n

On the day, Mitchell said: “Made by Mitchell was born in Liverpool, so it only felt right we started our store journey here. The store is inspired by Cat in the Hat as a young boy.<\/p>\n

“I feel like it was all about colours you wouldn’t normally see together. I love green, and a lot of people love pink, they go so well together. Even look at Wicked at the moment.<\/p>\n

“It has always been our brand colours but I just wanted you to feel like walked into something that wasn\u2019t on this planet coming in here. I think we\u2019ve done a good job.<\/p>\n

“People ask me \u2018why Liverpool?\u2019 It\u2019s where Made By Mitchell was born, where I built the tea and where I did my first ever masterclass at the beginning of my career.<\/p>\n

“I’ve always said I was a Scouser in my past life \u2014 I love the glam, I love the community. It\u2019s the home of Made By Mitchell. And the Metquarter is a full circle moment as I used to shop in the MAC store there in my early days.\u201d<\/p>\n

The news of the closure comes following Made by Mitchell’s latest collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants – it is these type of collaborations that will see Mitchell reopen the shop to celebrate their launch throughout 2026.
