A popular Stockport venue has appeared on the market just months after being revamped into an Irish American sports bar.<\/a><\/p>\n \u2018Speakeasy-style\u2019 bar and music venue Bask opened in a spot opposite Stockport<\/a> railway station back in June 2022 and featured a regular line-up of DJs, live music and comedy nights. This summer, the concept was rebranded<\/a> into Fitzpatricks as part of a \u2018bold new chapter\u2019 for the site.<\/p>\n Unveiled as the \u2018next evolution of our venue\u2019 at the time, the bar has featured a regular roster of musicians playing Irish, American and Country songs, as well as live sports, traditional food and ‘good vibes’. Their 360 screens also regularly showed Stockport County fixtures too.<\/p>\n However, just six months after initially announcing the new concept, the site – on Railway Road – has now been listed for sale by business selling agents Christie and Co. The 2,500 sq ft venue is listed as being in an \u2018enviable location next to the newly refurbished Stockport Intercity rail terminus\u2019.<\/p>\n Also situated next to an Holiday Inn hotel, the venue – now run by music promoter John Fitzpatrick, who is also known as Jon Fitz – is described as being \u2018quickly established as the go-to bar and diner within the Exchange Business complex\u2019. It has more than 100 covers inside, with another 72 outside.<\/p>\n The venue has been listed for sale by the agents for around \u00a3350,000, and is understood to include \u2018all fixtures and fittings\u2019. In a statement issued to the M.E.N, owner Jon said the venue has been a ‘huge success’ and they are selling it now to focus on ‘new ventures’. He said the bar is ‘trading strongly’, and described it as a ‘rare opportunity’ for an operator to take on an ‘excellent business’ and ‘build on its future’.<\/p>\n Jon said: “We\u2019ve proudly operated the business for the past four years and it\u2019s been a huge success for us. The change over to a new bar we thought would suit the local footprint and demand which it has! The decision to move on is simply about focusing on new ventures that we have in the mix and other areas of the business, rather than any reflection on performance. We want to add our energy to new sites and ideas.<\/p>\n “The bar is trading strongly, with footfall and sales increasing week on week, and the area continues to benefit from new developments and buildings going up nearby. It really is a rare opportunity to acquire a highly desirable, profitable venue, and we\u2019re confident it will be an excellent business for a new owner to take forward and build on its success.”<\/p>\n Whilst it is listed for sale, the venue is understood to still be open and operating as normal. The venue has big New Year\u2019s plans coming up, with a New Year’s Eve party, from 7pm, with drinking and dancing.
