At around 11pm on Monday, December 22, Merseyside Police were called to Breck Road in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/anfield\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Anfield<\/a>, at the junction of Oakfield Road and Belmont Road, to reports that a man, aged in his 50s, had been attacked by another man. The victim was stabbed and has been taken to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/nhs\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">hospital<\/a>, where he is in a stable condition. However, the attacker has not been found yet. An <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/crime\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">investigation<\/a> is underway to find him and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/merseyside-police\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">police officers<\/a> remain at the scene carrying out enquiries. Plans are nearing completion for a \u2018state-of-the-art\u2019 Lidl store in Kirkby town centre, according to the retail giant, after it agreed a deal with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/knowsley-council\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Knowsley Council<\/a> for a development at Telegraph Way. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/knowsley\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Knowsley<\/a> Council has confirmed it is currently in discussions with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/lidl\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Lidl<\/a> about the retailer investing in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/kirkby\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Kirkby<\/a>, as part of a wider regeneration project. Since the council purchased the town centre back in 2019, \u00a343.8 million has been invested in Kirkby and 94,000 sq ft of new retail space created including a new Morrisons supermarket and petrol station. After an initial proposal to build 300 homes on land at St Anne Street and Fox Street in Everton fell through four years ago, the site has lain unused.
