{"id":651160,"date":"2025-12-23T21:37:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T21:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/651160\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T21:37:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T21:37:13","slug":"air-charter-scotland-to-fill-wick-aberdeen-void-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/651160\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Charter Scotland to fill Wick-Aberdeen void \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Air-Charter-Scotland-will-operate-a-BAe-Jetstream-aircraft.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-187825 lazyload\"\/>Air Charter Scotland will use a Jetstream aircraft<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Air Charter Scotland will take on the suspended Wick-Aberdeen route as part of an expansion into scheduled air service operations in the new year. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Glasgow headquartered company has\u00a0signed a contract with Highland Council to operate the Public Service Obligation (PSO) route from 12 January.\u00a0 It has not been operating since the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailybusinessgroup.co.uk\/2025\/10\/loganair-offers-help-as-eastern-airways-collapses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">collapse of Eastern Airways<\/a> in October.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Air Charter Scotland will lease a BAe Jetstream 32 from \u2013 and operated by \u2013 Netherlands airline AIS Airlines before adding the type to its own fleet in the next few months.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Bookings go live from 6 January and flights will operate six days a week excluding Saturday from Wick, where the aircraft will be based, and from Aberdeen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Chief operating officer Derek Thomson said: \u201cWe are proud to support the Caithness community by keeping this vital air link flying, providing a critical lifeline air service the region can be truly proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Headquartered in Glasgow, with operational bases in London and Malta, Air Charter Scotland is Scotland\u2019s second oldest airline operator. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Air Charter Scotland is an aircraft asset management company.
