A teenager has been taken to hospital after being attacked in south Manchester this evening (Tuesday). Greater Manchester Police<\/a> (GMP) said they were called to Manchester Road in Chorlton<\/a> shortly before 5.30pm to reports of an assault.<\/p>\n Pictures showed several police and paramedic vehicles at the scene with a cordon in place near the junction with Woodside Road. A 17 year-old boy was injured and taken to hospital, police confirmed. It is understood officers believe the incident occurred at a different location but they are still trying to establish exactly where.<\/p>\n An investigation into the incident is now underway. The Manchester Evening News understands GMP have received reports a small knife was used in the attack, leaving the boy with an injury to his face which has required two stitches.<\/p>\n A force spokesperson confirmed the boy’s injuries were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening and said their investigation into the circumstances was ‘ongoing.’<\/p>\n They said: “We were called shortly before 5.30pm to reports of an assault on Manchester Road, Chorlton. A 17-year-old man has been taken to hospital with injuries not considered to be life-changing or life-threatening.
