It aims \u2033to ensure the continuity of national life and the functioning of public services,\u2033 including collecting taxes and disbursing them to local authorities based on tax and spending levels in the 2025 budget, the Cabinet said.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers in the National Assembly, the French parliament\u2019s powerful lower house, made several amendments and voted to approve the bill Tuesday evening, followed by the Senate. It passed despite deep divisions among the assembly\u2019s three main camps \u2014 <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/france-le-pen-macron-poverty-election-maps-c9f07cf760d3930498017f132f95443e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marine Le Pen\u2019s far-right National Rally<\/a>, left-wing forces, and Macron\u2019s centrist minority government.<\/p>\n<p>The next step will be harder: building a real budget for 2026, and averting a new political crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency law \u2019\u2019is like a spare tire,\u2033 Finance Minister Roland Lescure told lawmakers, urging quick work on a real budget for next year.
