Mulazimoglu appeared before a judge on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Suitcases flagged during outbound check<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/original.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"original.jpg \" height=\"775\" width=\"620\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Begum Mulazimoglu, 22.<\/p>\n<p>                Miami-Dade Corrections<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/miami-dade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Miami\u2011Dade<\/a> Sheriff&#8217;s Office said a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer flagged two hardsided suitcases during an outbound inspection after detecting a strong odor of marijuana.<\/p>\n<p>According to authorities, Mulazimoglu claimed ownership of the bags and had about $1,000 worth of U.S. and British currency \u2013 $330 in U.S. dollars and \u00a3530 in British pounds (about $713 USD) \u2013 in her possession.<\/p>\n<p>Affidavit details marijuana discovery<\/p>\n<p>An arrest affidavit said Homeland Security Investigations notified the Miami\u2011Dade Sheriff&#8217;s Office after the passenger was detained with the two marijuana-stuffed suitcases at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>An X\u2011ray scan revealed 60 bundles, 30 in each suitcase, weighing a combined 59.74 kilograms (131.7 pounds), along with two Apple AirTags hidden inside, the affidavit said.
