A 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being struck by a car on a main road in Prescot<\/a>. Emergency services were called to Warrington<\/a> Road at around 4.35pm this afternoon (Tuesday, December 23) following reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a child pedestrian near the Victoria Hotel.<\/p>\n The boy was taken to hospital for assessment of his injuries. His condition has not been confirmed. Police <\/a>attended the scene and Warrington Road<\/a> was closed while enquiries were carried out.<\/a> It has since been reopened.<\/p>\n Traffic alert service Inrix reported: “A57 Warrington Road in both directions partially blocked, with slow traffic due to an accident at Victoria Street.”<\/p>\n A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Rainhill following a road traffic collision this afternoon.<\/p>\n “At 4.35pm, we were called to Warrington Road to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a 10-year-old male pedestrian.<\/p>\n “The pedestrian has been taken to hospital for assessment.<\/p>\n “The road remains closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
