A man has been arrested following a serious assault outside a bar in Enniskillen in the early hours of Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n

Police were contacted shortly after 12am on Wednesday reporting that a man had been punched to the head by another man in the East Bridge Street area.<\/p>\n

Officers attended the scene, however the injured man had already been taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

His injuries are described as serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

District Commander Superintendent Cunningham said a 32-year-old man matching the description of the suspect was later located and arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.<\/p>\n

Following a search, he was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class C controlled drug. The man remains in police custody.<\/p>\n
