I thought it would have been almost a done deal.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

“But now Jayden Bogle’s got to think, well, actually Leeds are looking like they might avoid relegation, and therefore I could stay in at a Premier League club. I still think it may just edge him and his agent to think, look, the Friedkin Everton project we just discussed is more attractive than Leeds at the moment.

“There’s some quality players, and they’ll be strengthening coming in, there’s money to spend. So that may just tip them across to think about coming to Everton. But there’s no doubt it wasn’t as easy as it would have been just a few weeks ago. Whereas I’m sure it was a no-brainer to come to Everton. Now he’s having thoughts.

“So look, it’s a great game of football, things do change. But I think overall, if his advisors may just be thinking that Everton’s a better bet for him, a better platform for him to go on. There’s no doubt he’s a talent, and he’s been performing really well for Leeds. They will do all they can to keep him.

“But it’s going to be a tough decision, tougher than it would have been, but I think he may just go towards Everton.”

Credit: ImagoLeeds hold clear Bogle stance

Leeds have no plans to sell Bogle in January, with manager Daniel Farke wanting to keep his key players at the club until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Leeds are looking to add a striker to their squad to further bolster their attacking ranks for the second half of the season.

Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in fine form recently, but the 28-year-old could benefit with additional support up-front.

Wed 24 December 2025 12:14, UK Leeds United’s upturn in form may have made Jayden Bogle’s decision to…

[8814
748,393,11817,4884,12412,1860,16,15
0":"post-652525","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-leeds","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-everton","11":"tag-great-britain","12":"tag-jayden-bogle","13":"tag-leeds","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
