Approved in December 2025, the decision secures funding for major repairs, infrastructure upgrades, and public space improvements across the Grade II-listed complex. Subject to planning permission, major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archdaily.com\/tag\/construction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">construction<\/a> is scheduled to begin in 2027, with completion of this phase targeted for 2030, ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archdaily.com\/tag\/barbican\/page\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barbican<\/a>&#8216;s 50th anniversary. These areas will be sensitively restored and enhanced to support a wider range of uses, improve environmental performance, and strengthen connections between indoor and outdoor spaces.
