\n\tOriginal Saturday Night Live<\/a> cast member Chevy Chase<\/a> admits he was \u201churt\u201d that he was excluded from on-stage and sketch performances in SNL50: The Anniversary Special<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, it was kind of upsetting actually,\u201d he revealed in CNN Films\u2019 forthcoming documentary I\u2019m Chevy Chase and You\u2019re Not. \u201cThis is probably the first time I\u2019m saying it. But I expected that I would\u2019ve been on the stage too with all the other actors. When Garrett [Morris] and Laraine [Newman] went on the stage there, I was curious as to why I didn\u2019t. No one asked me to. Why was I left aside?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tChase was in the audience for the February special. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe special, which featured a mix of recent and classic\u00a0SNL\u00a0characters and cast members throughout its 50-year run, was initially going to include more of the actor, according to the docu. Chase\u2019s wife, Jayni Chase, revealed that Chevy was told \u201cup until that day that there were two bits, they were going back and forth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd then, all of the sudden, \u2018No, there\u2019s no bit,’\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

\n\tChase was the first SNL Weekend Update host during the show\u2019s debut season in 1975-1976\u00a0and his catchphrase introduction \u201cI\u2019m Chevy Chase\u2026 and you\u2019re not\u201d became well-known. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn a later referral in the docu to the Weekend Update segment, Chase questioned\u201dWhy was\u00a0Bill Murray\u00a0there and why was I not? I don\u2019t have an answer for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChase reveals in the documentary that he brought up his displeasure once \u201cin a text to Lorne (Michaels_ and then took it back.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI said, \u2018Okay, I take it back, silly.\u2019 But it\u2019s not that silly. Somebody\u2019s made a bad mistake there. I don\u2019t know who it was, but somebody made a mistake. They should\u2019ve had me on that stage. It hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChase starred on\u00a0SNL\u00a0from its 1975 launch through the middle of its second season in 1976, earning two Primetime Emmy awards as both a performer and writer out of four nominations. <\/p>\n

\n\tPer the description, the documentary is an \u201cauthorized yet unfiltered\u201d look at comedy legend Chase, who was one of the Not Ready for Prime-Time Players in the first season of\u00a0Saturday Night Live. The film includes interviews with the Chase family, friends and costars and says it will \u201creveal what is beneath the surface of his superstar bravado\u201d.<\/p>\n
