Nobody had this on their\u00a0Emmerdale<\/a>\u00a0bingo card \u2013 a Christmas wedding for none other than\u00a0Eric Pollard\u00a0<\/a>(Chris Chittell<\/a>). And the lucky lady is\u2026Kerry Wyatt<\/a>\u00a0(Laura Norton<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s like a duo that you shouldn\u2019t put together,\u2019\u00a0Laura Norton admitted,\u00a0\u2018but for some reason it just works.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n While it seems like an entirely random idea, the\u00a0seed of it\u00a0was planted a few episodes ago when Kerry discovered that Eric had\u00a0opened a bank account in her name<\/a>\u00a0and put\u00a0\u00a315,000 in it. She\u00a0immediately\u00a0went off on a spending spree only to find out that the money was intended as a nest egg for Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Eric explained that he wanted to make sure Jacob was financially secure in his future \u2013 a future that may include having to look after his baby on his own because of\u00a0Sarah (Katie Hill)\u2019s life-limiting illness<\/a>. By siphoning off cash into different accounts, Pollard was trying to ensure his money\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0all end up being\u00a0used up\u00a0if he needed to go into a care home himself\u00a0later on.\u00a0<\/p>\n And at that point Kerry declared that there might be a more efficient way of doing things \u2013 and said she had an idea. This wedding is\u00a0the\u00a0idea.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018He\u2019s opened\u00a0an account in her\u00a0name\u00a0and a lot of people would lose it and never speak to that person again or feel really betrayed,\u2019\u00a0Laura explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018She\u2019s just like,\u00a0\u201cGod, you should have just said, because I\u2019m going to go one step further now and say we should do this.\u201d\u00a0And\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0where you just\u00a0kind of go, my God,\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0incredible.\u00a0There\u2019s\u00a0nobody else like her and you are constantly opening a bunch of scripts and going, what is she doing now?\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0Unfortunately\u00a0their wedding takes place just before Jacob and Sarah are due to have their own surprise ceremony at the same place, and when they see Jacob\u2019s granddad\u00a0has got\u00a0there before\u00a0them\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0not best pleased.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018This wedding was a massive shock to Sarah and\u00a0Jacob\u00a0plus it means they\u00a0missed out on\u00a0their wedding. Jacob has been planning this special day to marry the girl of his dreams.\u00a0He\u2019s\u00a0fuming because he\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0even know why\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0done\u00a0it,\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0just completely ruined his day,\u2019\u00a0Laura said.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t Part of Jacob and Sarah\u2019s shock could be down to Kerry\u2019s wedding outfit, which is a not exactly subtle cowgirl outfit in bright pink. Beyonc\u00e9\u00a0fan Laura loved the look.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018I went to the Cowboy Carter\u00a0concert,\u00a0I dressed up a bit.\u00a0\u00a0But when I got the costume for Kerry on that day, to film the wedding scenes, I was like, this is how I should have dressed for that concert.\u00a0\u00a0All the luminous pink and just going for it.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018Kerry in true Kerry style has gone, even though this marriage\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0real,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0going for it. I am getting married, so\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0gonna\u00a0get dressed up, so\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0gone to town.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDon’t miss a Soaps scoop! She is loyal and does genuinely\u00a0care and\u00a0about and love people and when she came into the village, Eric and Val\u00a0(Charlie Hardwick)\u00a0had adopted Amy\u00a0(Natalie Ann Jamieson).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018And they did a\u00a0really fantastic\u00a0job\u00a0and she was well cared for and Amy was\u00a0very happy. They thought Kerry was such a mess and a car\u00a0crash\u00a0but they were kind and they took her in as well because they loved Amy.\u202f\u00a0But now Amy\u2019s gone. <\/p>\n \u2018I feel like this is some sort of misplaced guilt a little bit.
