A loud thunderstorm crashed over Belfast in the early hours of this morning.<\/p>\n
In the early hours of this morning, locals reported hearing loud thunder in the north of the city, with one user on X (formally known as Twitter) saying \u201cI\u2019ve never heard thunder like that in my life in Belfast. It was so loud it shook my bedroom and completely freaked me out\u201d, while another said it \u201csounded like a bomb going off\u201d.<\/p>\n
Video shot from a doorbell camera in north Belfast shows a bright flash and the roaring of the thunder above can be heard.<\/p>\n

Users on social media reported the thunderstorm beginning at around 5am on Thursday 1 May.<\/p>\n
Following this morning\u2019s thunder, conditions are due to be cloudy in the morning with occasional rain, becoming mainly dry in the afternoon with brighter skies developing in the north and the west, with a maximum temperature of 17C.<\/p>\n
