The Princess of Wales<\/a> has chosen to opt for fashion’s shade du jour, chocolate brown<\/a>, for Christmas Day 2025. Arriving at a service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate, Catherine was photographed with her husband Prince William and three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. <\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales’ brown ensemble steps away from the festive-shaded looks she has worn each December 25 since she first joined the royal family for Christmas in 2011. Instead, she embraced a more trend-driven approach. Brown, in all shades, has been, without a doubt, the breakout colour of 2025, and this is not the first time Catherine has embraced the newly minted hero shade.<\/p>\n

Prior to 2025, the Princess kept her Christmas Day looks closer to the Christmas palette. In 2024, she chose a forest green Alexander McQueen coat, offset with a neat matching hat and tartan scarf that brought a sense of festivities to the outfit. The year prior, she wore a similar Alexander McQueen coat (that has since become a wardrobe favourite<\/a> for Her Royal Highness), though this time in a standout cobalt blue. Fashion enthusiasts will remember (and long for a reappearance of) her Miu Miu coat from Christmas 2017, while her arrival at the church alongside new sister-in-law Meghan Markle in 2018, wearing a berry red Catherine Walker coat dress, proves equally memorable.<\/p>\n

As the Princess of Wales walked past well-wishers who had opted to line the stretch leading up to the church, further details of her 2025 Christmas Day outfit became clearer. Temperatures proved especially crisp and chilly, so Catherine added a printed scarf to her Blaz\u00e9 Milano<\/a> coat (first worn in January of this year) and finished the look with a Juliette Botterill felt lace hat<\/a> and Cartier Trinity earrings<\/a>. She carried her DeMellier Hudson bag<\/a> to match her brown suede boots. <\/p>\n

It was a sweet moment of excitement for the young Wales family as they made their way towards the church alongside the rest of the royal family. Princes George and Louis wore navy coats and suits, while 10-year-old Princess Charlotte, fresh from making her television debut on Christmas Eve with a piano duet with her mum, coordinated in a beige coat with brown lapels. A sartorial note for Prince William, too, who dressed up his navy jacket with a jaunty scarf for a jolly festive twist.<\/p>\n
