{"id":654318,"date":"2025-12-25T15:43:19","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T15:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/654318\/"},"modified":"2025-12-25T15:43:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T15:43:19","slug":"only-fools-and-horses-most-iconic-london-filming-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/654318\/","title":{"rendered":"Only Fools and Horses\u2019 most iconic London filming locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/culture\/tvfilm\/only-fools-and-horses-where-are-the-cast-now-b1262768.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Only Fools and Horses<\/a> continues to be one of the most loved British sitcoms of all time over 44 years since the first episode aired. <\/p>\n<p>The hit show ran for seven seasons and a number of Christmas specials for a total of 64 episodes, following the adventures of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/showbiz\/celebrity-news\/david-del-boy-bbc-nicholas-lyndhurst-son-b1262700.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Del Boy<\/a>, Rodney and Grandad on the streets of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/peckham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peckham<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/south-london\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">south London<\/a> setting, true fans of the show know that much of the well-loved BBC sitcom was actually shot in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/bristol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bristol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of locations from the capital do feature throughout the sitcom\u2019s run though, from the original Nelson Mandela House in the show\u2019s titles to Sotheby&#8217;s auction house, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/del-boy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Del Boy<\/a> finally makes his millions.<\/p>\n<p>Here are our favourite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/london\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a> spots from the TV show.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/onlyfoolsflat2211a.jpg\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sc-eqUAAy kRUyJB\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Tony Buckingham<\/p>\n<p>This Acton tower block, 13 miles from Peckham, features in the opening titles of the show as the fictional Nelson Mandela House.<\/p>\n<p>The building is still standing to this day.- but in 2019, plans were announced to demolish the tower to make way for new homes.<\/p>\n<p>Despite David Jason, Del Boy himself, calling for a preservation order to protect the iconic block, it is scheduled for demolition in 2027.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/sothebys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sotheby&#8217;s<\/a> is possibly the most famous London location to feature in the series. <\/p>\n<p>A real auction house in Mayfair which deals with private sales of paintings, jewellery, watches, wine and more, Sotheby\u2019s featured in the iconic episode &#8216;Time on Our Hands&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It is here where Del Boy and Rodney finally make their fortune when they auction off a pocket watch they had found in the garage. <\/p>\n<p>Del and Rodney faint during the auction as they hear the high bidding prices, with the watch ultimately selling for \u00a36.2 million &#8211; lovely jubbly!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theatre Royal, Drury Lane<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>London&#8217;s Theatre Royal appeared in the fifth Christmas special episode when Rodney goes to the opera with the daughter of a Duke.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, things don\u2019t go to plan \u2013 with Del tagging along with a date, snacking on crisps through the performance and landing the group in an argument. The Theatre Royal is shown as the group leave at the end of a typically shambolic evening.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1400-chapel-market-islington-graham-hussey_1.jpg\" width=\"1400\" height=\"817\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sc-eqUAAy kRUyJB\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This market in Islington is one of the most seen locations in the whole series, featuring particularly in many early episodes. <\/p>\n<p>Del is shown trotting down the street with a suitcase in hand, hoping to sell his goods at the market, in the very first episode.<\/p>\n<p>The street is still a working market, hosting 224 different market stalls selling everything from fruit and veg to household goods and clothing.<\/p>\n<p>The Alma pub, a boozer which features in multiple episodes, is also just down the road.<\/p>\n<p>West Cross Route near Shepherd\u2019s Bush holds special memories for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/only-fools-and-horses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Only Fools and Horses<\/a> fans, as it features in the closing moments of the final ever episode, \u2018Sleepless in Peckham\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Del and Rodney drive off in their iconic van up this otherwise fairly bleak dual carriageway, which can be seen from Westfield Shepherd\u2019s Bush and White City station.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_2632.jpg\" width=\"5712\" height=\"4284\" alt=\"Passengers waiting at Waterloo station\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sc-eqUAAy kRUyJB\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A \u2018do not travel\u2019 warning has been issued amid chaos at Waterloo station<\/p>\n<p>Niva Yadav<\/p>\n<p>Del first meets the love of his life Raquel at Waterloo Station, arranges to meet his blind date under the famous station clock after signing up to a dating agency.<\/p>\n<p>Armed with a huge bouquet of flowers, Del accidentally approaches a prostitute before bumping into Raquel &#8211;
