Ipswich Town<\/a> boss Kieran McKenna has since said<\/a> there is \u2018no chance\u2019 he will be sold to the Blades next month. Therefore, Chris Wilder may need to start looking at potential alternatives in his position. <\/p>\n

The South Yorkshire outfit are sat in 18th place in the Championship<\/a> table after 22 fixtures. They are nine points off the play-offs behind Millwall<\/a> in 6th and seven above the drop zone. <\/p>\n

Murphy, 30, has been a key player since his move to Pompey in 2024. He penned a new deal<\/a> earlier this year until 2028 but they could still face a battle to keep hold of him. <\/p>\n

The ex-England youth international has made 56 appearances for the Hampshire club in all competitions to date and is one of the first names on their team sheet under John Mousinho<\/a>. He has chipped in with seven goals and an eye-catching 19 assists. <\/p>\n

If he joined the Blades, he would inject more quality into Wilder\u2019s starting XI. In addition, he could provide more competition and depth on the wing. <\/p>\n

Strikers like Bamford, Danny Ings, Tyrese Campbell and Tom Cannon would thrive off his service. Younger players like Oli Arblaster, Andre Brooks and Harrison Burrows would also learn a lot from him in the dressing room. <\/p>\n

The Blades are still an attractive team to join, despite their poor term to date.
