It\u2019s often said that everyone in Wales knows each other.<\/p>\n

Just see Elis James\u2019 Cymru Connection from the Elis and John Podcast<\/a> for a prime example of this very phenomenon.<\/p>\n

When writer Dean Burnett took to social media platform X to pay tribute to rugby legend Ray Gravell by telling the story of the memorable day his Nana Phyllis met the great man, he proved the point perfectly.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a couple of years old now but it deserves another airing. We love it and we\u2019re sure you will too!<\/p>\n

This hilarious tale featuring Welsh great Gravell and the sort of formidable Welsh nan that everyone knows, might also be the most Welsh thing you will ever read.<\/p>\n

The larger-than-life Wales international, broadcaster and actor was sadly taken from us aged just 56 in 2007, after suffering a heart attack. However, you just know he would have roared with laughed at Dean\u2019s story.<\/p>\n

The fabulously funny tale sums up the Welsh hero to a tee and certainly portrays Dean\u2019s Nana Phyllis as quite the woman.<\/p>\n

And if you think everyone knows each other in Wales \u2013 then you might be right.<\/p>\n
