1) Man was scared of spending Christmas alone after being made homeless<\/strong><\/p>\n “I\u2019m scared of being on my own at Christmas” says Jamie Willingham, 50. This will be his first since he became homeless<\/a>. A Christmas tree glows with soft multi-coloured lights through the conservatory window. Jamie has his grey hoodie pulled tight around him, his knees to his chest, his cap pulled firmly down over eyes fixed on an iPad. He seems younger than his years, and he’s full of hopes for the future. Last night, he starred in a production of A Christmas Carol put on by residents of YMCA Wirral<\/a>, and he tells me he’s planning to go to uni next year for music production; to Liverpool, Leeds or London. READ HERE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n 2) Taxi driver slapped with \u00a3650 fine after parking near airport<\/strong><\/p>\n A taxi driver <\/a>has been slapped with a \u00a3650 fine after parking on a residential street<\/a> while waiting to pick up airport passengers. Dale Tonlin was issued a \u00a3100 fixed penalty notice after being caught waiting on the street. But he failed to pay and was hauled before a court<\/a>, and was ordered to pay an additional fine, a victim surcharge, and prosecution<\/a> costs. Tonlin was caught by traffic wardens on Doghurst Drive, Heathrow, while waiting for fares at the nearby airport on May 2. READ HERE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n 3) Man fighting for life after East Lancs Road crash<\/strong><\/p>\n A man is fighting for his life following a crash on the East Lancs Road on Christmas Eve. Emergency services were called to Stonebridge Lane<\/a>, near the Vikings Landing in Fazakerley<\/a>, at around 8.40pm on Wednesday, December 24, following reports of a two-car crash. A large-scale response attended, with police, fire and ambulance crews at the scene. Merseyside Police<\/a> confirmed the crash involved a grey Audi A4 and a black Ford Puma<\/a> at the junction of East Lancashire Road and Stonebridge Lane in Croxteth<\/a>. Police said the driver, a man, of the Ford Puma suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition. A 34-year-old woman and an eight-year-old boy were also taken to hospital with serious injuries. Parents Lois Baker, 21, and Harvey Boulton, 20, from Bidston, welcomed baby Reggie Boulton at Arrowe Park Hospital at 2.07am on Christmas morning. First-time mum Lois went into labour early on Christmas Eve<\/a>, three days ahead of her due date. Despite having just two hours of sleep, Lois said: “It’s the best present I ever could have had. No-one will ever beat this present.” The first baby born in Liverpool this Christmas<\/a> morning was Serenne Calder, born at Liverpool Women’s Hospital <\/a>at 5.39am. Parents Ant Calder, 42, and student nurse Keileigh Gough, 38, from Old Swan, weren’t expecting little Serenne to arrive until the 28th. The infamous presence of these, shall we say, enterprising women is said to linger still within the very fabric of the Liver Building itself. Some believe their tormented souls roam endlessly, forever attempting to cash in on policies long expired. Others describe them as pillars of darkness, shifting silently along the long, lonely corridors. Cold spots appear, unexplained and unwelcome, wherever these two black shadows are said to drift.
