Families across the region have enjoyed decent weather for any Christmas hikes, runs and bike rides today (December 25).

Anyone hoping for a white Christmas will have been left disappointed though, and there appears to be no chance of snow making an appearance tonight, according to the Met Office. A dry, cold and mostly clear Christmas night is expected in Greater Manchester, with overnight lows of 1C.

But Met Office forecasters say the ‘feels like’ temperature, which takes wind chill and humidity into account, could feel as low as -2C in parts of the region, dropping to -3C in Oldham. Tomorrow, Boxing Day, should see the best of the weather for the remainder of 2025.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

The Met Office is forecasting clear, sunny skies throughout the day, with highs of 7C in Greater Manchester and as less-than-five per cent chance of rain. Wind gusts are expected to slow down this evening, before a more calm and settled few days ahead.

Early forecasts for the remainder of the year suggest there will be plenty of grey, gloomy skies. Overcast conditions are forecast from Saturday (December 27) through to New Year’s Eve, next Wednesday.

Monday could see the best of the weather prior to the end of the year, with some sunny intervals forecast from 10am to midday. Top temperatures are likely to hover around 7C and 6C before the end of the year, while Tuesday night is due to be the coldest with lows of 0C in some places.

Any dreams of a white Christmas are long gone 17:50, 25 Dec 2025Updated 17:50, 25 Dec 2025 Clouds…

[8813
279,748,1285,393,4884,2465,2768,1286,1170,1290,1288,1026,2769,1289,16,15,1287
0":"post-654972","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-manchester","8":"tag-bolton","9":"tag-britain","10":"tag-bury","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-manchester","14":"tag-manchester-weather","15":"tag-oldham","16":"tag-rochdale","17":"tag-salford","18":"tag-stockport","19":"tag-tameside","20":"tag-the-met-office","21":"tag-trafford","22":"tag-uk","23":"tag-united-kingdom","24":"tag-wigan
["GET
