A blaze at a property in Edinburgh on Christmas Day <\/a>was ‘wilful’ according to Police Scotland<\/a>. The fire broke out at around 6.45pm on December 25, with emergency services called to the scene on Stevenson Drive.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched three appliances and one height appliance after locals ‘smelled smoke in the air’. Police taped off a section of the street as they investigated.<\/p>\n

It’s understood that no injuries were sustained in the blaze. Fire <\/a>crews left the scene at around 7.31pm after the flames were extinguished.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.45pm on Thursday, 25 December, 2025, officers received a report of a fire at a property on Stevenson Drive, Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”<\/p>\n

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed: “We were called to Stevenson Drive at 6.41pm on December 25 after reports of a dwelling fire.<\/p>\n

Iain Henderson posted to X: “Major fire, police incident on Stevenson Drive in Edinburgh. Smell of smoke in the air..<\/p>\n

“Looks like a house fire.”<\/p>\n

Another report on social media claimed it ‘didn’t look good’. They witnessed four fire engines and four police cars on the street as officers taped off the scene.<\/p>\n
