<\/p>\n Royal expert<\/a> Tom Quinn once claimed that Queen Consort Camilla wasn’t a huge fan of Princess Kate Middleton. In his documentary The Middletons: Modern Royal-in-laws, he offered unique insight into the dynamics within the royal family<\/a>, particularly the early conflicts between the two royal ladies. Although Middleton today stands as a central pillar of the Firm, there were once doubts within the royal family when Prince William first introduced her.<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n As reported by the Daily Express<\/a>, Quinn said, “I’d heard that Camilla wasn’t very keen on Catherine. She didn’t shoot, she’s not into horses particularly, there was too much of a gap, and William would feel it. But I think it’s true to say that Camilla later warmed to Catherine and recognized her solid virtues.” With Middleton hailing from a non-aristocratic background, Camilla\u2019s reported concerns were in line with traditional royal thinking, where it’s believed that an outsider wouldn’t be able to keep up with the duties of the Firm, as reported by Marie Claire<\/a>. The irony here is, however, hard to miss\u2014as decades ago, Camilla herself was labeled not fit for royal life, as her background was once deemed too shady to be a future king\u2019s bride.<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n Not only does Catherine share a wonderful relationship with The King, who refers to her as \u201cmy beloved daughter in law\u201d she also shares a wonderful and fun relationship with her mother in law, Queen Camilla \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n It\u2019s wonderful seeing these two lovely ladies together. This was considered to be a subtle jab at Camilla\u2019s past concern over her not being a horse lover. Despite the cold start, Middleton and Camilla are said to have built a close bond over the years. Another expert, Angela Levin, shared, “Camilla gets on very, very well with Catherine and helped her to understand the way you needed to be in the Palace because it’s very difficult.”<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n At William and Middleton’s royal wedding, Camilla gifted the Princess of Wales a custom gold bracelet, as reported by The Mirror<\/a>. A particularly noteworthy moment between the two women also came during a Commonwealth Day service, where they exchanged cheek kisses and shared a lighthearted chat just before stepping out of Westminster Abbey<\/a>. Commenting on the same, body language expert Judi James said, “Kate touched Camilla\u2019s arm with her left hand as an add-on gesture to suggest closeness and affection as they cheek-kissed. She also performed a huge \u2018act of inconvenience\u2019 to show respect, bending her knees to lower herself right down to plant her kiss on Camilla\u2019s cheeks.”<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n King Charles, on the other hand, was reportedly very welcoming of Middleton. As per biographer Katie Nicholls, “Charles really made a point of welcoming Kate into the family from an early stage. She was often invited for shooting weekends up at Berk Hall. It’s Charles who largely taught Kate to stalk.” <\/p>\n\n
