Angela Feenan died on Friday.<\/p>\n

A pensioner has died after a crash in Co Down \u2013 the third fatal accident in as many days this Christmas.<\/p>\n

Angela Feenan died in the two-vehicle collision on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n

She was 73 and from the Downpatrick area.<\/p>\n

Another man was taken to hospital, police said.<\/p>\n

The accident happened on the Ardglass Road, Downpatrick.<\/p>\n

Chief Inspector Simpson from the Collision Investigation Unit said: \u201cPolice received a report of a two vehicle collision, involving a Black Seat Arona and a white Vauxhall Insignia, at approximately 5.40pm on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers attended alongside emergency services partners, however the driver of the Seat, 73 year old Angela Feenan from the Downpatrick area, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n

“The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.<\/p>\n

\u201cArdglass Road was closed for some time but has since re-opened.\u201d<\/p>\n

It follows two other fatal accidents over the Christmas period.<\/p>\n

Also on Boxing Day, P\u00e1draig McDonald died after a collision near Cookstown<\/a>, Co Tyrone.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old was from the Loughmacrory area.<\/p>\n

A teenager also suffered \u201clife-changing injuries\u201d and several others remain injured.<\/p>\n

Separately, young footballer Callum McVeigh died after an accident<\/a> on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n

He was 23 and from the Crossgar in Co Down.<\/p>\n

The PSNI said Mr McVeigh died following a single-vehicle accident involving a forklift which occurred on a laneway off the Holywood Road in the Craigantlet area of Newtownards.<\/p>\n
