Thousands flock to the iconic <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/river-thames\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Thames<\/a> crossing each year only to find the show hidden behind a river bend and tall buildings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The same is true of London Bridge and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/southwark\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Southwark<\/a> Bridge, the City Bridge Foundation, which supports and maintains five of London\u2019s bridges, has warned. Paul Martinelli, the charity&#8217;s char, said: &#8220;We still expect to see significant crowding on the bridges, which can present a danger to all bridge users, including pedestrians and drivers who will also be using the bridges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;We want everyone to have a happy New Year\u2019s Eve, but if you\u2019re after fireworks, you\u2019ll get a much better view watching the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/bbc\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">BBC<\/a>\u2019s coverage at home or in one of London\u2019s numerous bars and restaurants.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2_london-fireworks-new-years-eve.jpg\" alt=\"fireworks over lonodon's skyline\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The fireworks show has become a highlight of London&#8217;s calendar (Image: Rob Pinney\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Millennium Bridge will be closed to the public from 7pm on December 31, and Blackfriars Bridge is off limits to non-ticket holders. All bridges in Central London may close at short notice for public safety reasons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Commander Umer Khan, from City of London Police, added: &#8220;These bridges are outside the event perimeter and will remain open to traffic. In the interest of public safety, we\u2019re urging people not to stop on the bridges on New Year\u2019s Eve if they\u2019re expecting to see the fireworks display.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The closure warning follows news popular lookout spots Primrose Hill and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/greenwich\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Greenwich<\/a> Park will also close <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/whats-on\/music-nightlife-news\/london-royal-parks-nye-shut-33037521\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">amid concerns over public safety<\/a>. Official viewing areas can only be found along Victoria Embankment, Waterloo and Westminster bridges and parts of the South Bank.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/whats-on\/final-tickets-london-new-years-32893579\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">final batch of tickets was released in late-November<\/a> and the event is now sold out. Getting in has proven difficult in recent years, with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/news\/zone-1-news\/fake-london-new-years-eve-30220794\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">touts hiking up resell prices to over \u00a3250<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">City Hall previously issued a scam alert urging eventgoers not to buy tickets from sites other than official partner Ticketmaster.
