As everyone was enjoying their Christmas with family and food, Zack Snyder<\/a> decided to play Santa and show off his former Superman<\/a> wearing the classic Christopher Reeve suit.<\/p>\n

\u201cHenry Cavill. This photo. It was undeniable,\u201d Snyder<\/a> wrote on Thursday. The photo is exactly what it promises, showing the\u00a0Man of Steel<\/a>\u00a0actor in the midday, standing in the middle of a field with the clouds behind him and the sun peeking out. He also shared a second, more close-up photo<\/a>, revealing he used both to sell Warner Bros. on casting Cavill for the role. \u201cEveryone agreed: Henry Cavill was Superman. That\u2019s where the journey began.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snyder\u2019s previously recalled the experience of seeing Cavill in that classic suit before: in 2016, he told DuJour<\/a> that everyone went \u201cDang, you\u2019re Superman!\u201d the day Cavill walked out of the trailer with the suit on. And in a 2011 interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, the director said Cavill was the only actor who put it on during auditions that didn\u2019t look silly wearing it, highlighting his \u201ccrazy-calm confidence\u201d that made Snyder cast him.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been an interesting year getting a behind-the-scenes look at Superman actors.
