Wales scrum-half Tomos Williams showed his new employers Saracens just what they are getting next season with a piece of brilliant skill to set up a score for current club Gloucester.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old was unveiled as a new signing for next season by Saracens on Christmas<\/a> Day, with the former Cardiff<\/a> scrum-half ironically going up against Sarries just a couple of days later with the Cherry and Whites. The Gloucester captain took the opportunity to impress his future employers with a lovely assist for second-row Arthur Clark.<\/p>\n The Lions scrum-half went airborne to put the lock over, prompting former England international Austin Healey to call for Williams to “take a bow”.<\/p>\n From a lineout, Williams sniped down the blindside – standing up opposite number Ivan Van Zyl on the outside.<\/p>\n With Max Malins coming across, Williams – holding the ball in one hand – found an offload over the England wing to Clark in support.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n The audacious piece of skill left the TNT commentators in awe.<\/p>\n “Gloucester’s globetrotter making magic again, showing the Shed what they’ll be missing next year,” said Jamie Lyall.<\/p>\n “And Arthur Clark the beneficiary of another piece of Welsh wizardry.”<\/p>\n Healey was just as effusive for the efforts of the 67-cap scrum-half.<\/p>\n “Wow, wow, wow,” said Healey. This is such a good piece of skill.<\/p>\n “The feet haven’t done him, but the eyes have. That is sensational.<\/p>\n “Take a bow.”<\/p>\n The nature of Williams’ offload – once again showing off the basketball skills that come from a youth playing the sport – caught the eye of many on social media.<\/p>\n “Did I just watch Tomos Williams doing a fade away jump shot pass in a game of rugby?” asked one, before adding: “What a player!”<\/p>\n Others noted that it was quite a statement to step past Van Zyl to set up the try, given the pair will be competing for Saracens’ nine jersey next season.<\/p>\n Williams has quickly become a fan favourite since moving to Gloucester, with the skills that were always on show at Cardiff reaching a new audience in the Gallagher Prem.<\/p>\n Last season saw him named Prem player of the year.<\/p>\n Follow all of our channels to ensure you stay up to date with the latest Welsh rugby news.
