An incident has sparked a huge emergency response in Edinburgh <\/a>this evening. The alarm was raised around 4.30pm on Saturday, December 27 when crews were called to Picardy Place in the heart of the capital.<\/p>\n Emergency services, including Police Scotland<\/a> and Scottish Ambulance Service, raced to the scene, just a short distance from Edinburgh Playhouse and near to Calton Hill.<\/p>\n Unconfirmed reports from locals suggest at least two pedestrians were injured after a collision, according to Edinburgh Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n A photo from the alleged crash site shows two blue-lit ambulances <\/a>and at least three police cars in attendance. Officers stand on the street, which looks to be at least partly locked down by what is going on.<\/p>\n The number of people affected by what has happened, as well as their ages and condition, is not yet known. The event has had a knock-on effect on travel <\/a>in the city.<\/p>\n Lothian Buses confirmed there were delays to services on Picardy Place. Services impacted include the 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 16, 19, 25, 34, 45 and 49.<\/p>\n A spokesperson said: “Due to congestion buses are being delayed in the Picardy Place area.”<\/p>\n
