Ryanair has released a statement following an incident on a Birmingham flight where passengers were reportedly ‘injured’, with the experience likened to a ‘horror movie’.<\/p>\n
On 28 December, flight FR1121 bound for Tenerife was forced to return to Birmingham Airport<\/a> due to air turbulence.<\/p>\n Passengers reported to the Aviation Herald that the turbulence occurred while cabin service was underway, resulting in several ‘injuries’.<\/p>\n Read more: Terrifying zombie knife attack in Coventry city centre<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Read more: The seven streets in Coventry being targeted by thieves<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A female passenger on the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft claimed that passengers were ‘flung out of their seat’ as the plane ‘plummeted’.<\/p>\n She recounted: “I was on this flight. It felt like something you see on a horror movie.<\/p>\n “We were smooth cruising then, out of nowhere all of a sudden, the plane jerked to the left extremely quickly and then to the right.<\/p>\n “It felt like a loss of control, and then we plummeted down and we were flung out of our seats, reports Birmingham Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n “”I came out physically unharmed but the mental toll this has taken is awful.”<\/p>\n Despite the delay, passengers eventually arrived on the Spanish island later that evening.<\/p>\n Ryanair confirmed that ‘medical assistance’ was provided to a number of individuals following the incident. A spokesperson for Ryanair stated: “FR1121 from Birmingham to Tenerife on 28th December returned to Birmingham Airport shortly after take-off due to air turbulence.<\/p>\n “The aircraft landed normally before passengers disembarked and returned to the terminal, where a small number of passengers were provided with medical assistance.<\/p>\n “This flight continued to Tenerife at 21:06 local.”<\/p>\n A Birmingham Airport spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the aircraft returning to BHX and initiated the normal operating procedures to support Ryanair”.<\/p>\n
