Take That<\/a> have dropped a major announcement which fans say they have been \u2018waiting ages for\u2019 ahead of the band\u2019s big tour next year.<\/a><\/p>\n

The popular boyband first formed in Manchester in 1990 and featured Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald in its original line-up. The group first rose to prominence with It Only Takes a Minute, which became their first top ten hit.<\/p>\n

The band, now comprising Gary, Mark and Howard, have since sold more than 14 million albums and achieved 28 top 40 singles – including 12 number one hits. Some of their biggest songs also include Patience, Rule the World, Relight My Fire and Never Forget.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the three-piece announced they would be bringing back their popular 2009 The Circus tour with a summer line-up of shows next year. Dubbed The Circus Live \u2013 Summer 2026<\/a>, the tour will kick off in Southampton on May 29. It will include four shows<\/a> at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium<\/a> throughout June and July.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the only big 2026 news for Take That. It has been announced today (December 29) that the band will also be at the centre of a new three-part documentary series<\/a> coming to Netflix in January. Simply titled Take That, the show will premiere on January 27.<\/p>\n

The Netflix<\/a> show will feature 35 years of “rare archive, never-before-seen footage, personal material” as well as brand new interviews with the current members of the band, alongside archive interviews from Robbie and Jason. In a description of the show, Netflix said: \u201cThis series offers an intimate look at the highs, the heartbreaks, and the enduring legacy of one of the UK\u2019s most successful bands of all time.<\/p>\n

“From their early beginnings as five piece formed in Manchester to becoming pop superstars, relive the camaraderie, chaos, and resilience that fueled their meteoric rise, dramatic split, and one of the greatest comebacks in British music history. Told in their own words, this is the deeply personal and definitive story of Take That.”<\/p>\n

The first footage from the show was unveiled today which shows the band backstage preparing for a show. In a voiceover, Gary says: \u201cNothing beats being in a band. There’s a strength, there’s a buzz. But I don’t think anything could prepare you for what we were about to take on, come the ’90s.”<\/p>\n

The news has expectedly gone down well with diehard Take That fans, who are affectionately known as Thatters<\/a>. One said: \u201cFinally! Now will I need to stock up on tissues to watch this?\u201d Another commented: \u201cCannot wait for this \u2026missed you boys and 2026 promises to bring us so much. What a wonderful start to our boys being back xxx.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another also said: \u201cThis is going to be a special watch, all the unseen footage from back in the day! This is the DREAM of documentaries for all Thatters.\u201d Many fans also relished in the fact that the documentary will be released on Mark\u2019s 54th birthday too.
