In the sixth round of the funding, 19 new projects have been selected across the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">These include a \u2018fly-tipping prone\u2019 car park in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/stockport\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Stockport<\/a> being turned into a \u2018food park\u2019, a brand new \u2018street park\u2019 in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/wigan\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Wigan<\/a>, and an \u2018underused\u2019 garden at a hospital in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/rochdale\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Rochdale<\/a> that will be transformed into a community space. (Image: Northern Roots)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Mayor of Greater Manchester, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/andy-burnham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Andy Burnham<\/a>, said: \u201cI\u2019m really proud to announce the latest round of Green Spaces Fund winners, building on the strong momentum we\u2019re seeing right across Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThese projects are helping us respond to the climate and nature emergencies, while creating welcoming spaces that bring people together and support healthier, happier lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The most recent round of funding was partly supported by Together Money and Autotrader, according to Daveen Wallis, co-founder of the Greater Manchester Environment Trust.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Mr Wallis added: \u201cThe Green Spaces Fund is helping communities across the city region reconnect with nature, and it\u2019s been great to see so many brilliant ideas come through this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/0_SAP_MEN_DAM____05JPG.jpg\" alt=\"Chadwick Dam in Stalybridge. \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Chadwick Dam in Stalybridge.
