Andy Burnham<\/a>, said: \u201cI\u2019m really proud to announce the latest round of Green Spaces Fund winners, building on the strong momentum we\u2019re seeing right across Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n\u201cThese projects are helping us respond to the climate and nature emergencies, while creating welcoming spaces that bring people together and support healthier, happier lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
The most recent round of funding was partly supported by Together Money and Autotrader, according to Daveen Wallis, co-founder of the Greater Manchester Environment Trust.<\/p>\n
Mr Wallis added: \u201cThe Green Spaces Fund is helping communities across the city region reconnect with nature, and it\u2019s been great to see so many brilliant ideas come through this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Access to green spaces is linked to improvements in mental health and community cohesion, some of the reasons the fund was first created in 2022. It\u2019s since funded \u00a33.5m worth of green spaces.<\/p>\n

Rochdale<\/p>\n
\n- Gather and Grow, a community growing tunnel and seating area created by the Pennine Care Charity (\u00a332,600)<\/li>\n
- Wild and Free 4 All, a wildflower meadow and beekeeping haven by Status 4 All (\u00a319,540)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Oldham<\/p>\n
\n- Let\u2019s Gather at the Farm, an expansion of the Northern Roots urban farm in Alexandra Park (\u00a331,168)<\/li>\n
- Little Green Spaces Coldhurst, turning neglected alleyways into communal gardens, by My Coldhurst (\u00a332,780)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Salford<\/p>\n
\n- Roots Outdoor Community Centre, creating three new outdoor spaces at Broughton Trust\u2019s Heath Avenue, including a growing skills centre and a sensory garden, Take Action Together CIC (\u00a340,000)<\/li>\n
- Growing for Good, a shared growing space at the Grapevine Community Garden, Wharton and Cleggs Lane Church & Community Centre (\u00a340,000)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Wigan<\/p>\n
\n- Diggle Street Park, a community orchard, new flower beds, and a wildflower border on Diggle Street in Wigan, The Community Patch (\u00a314,386)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Tameside<\/p>\n
\n- Chadwick Dam cooking forest project, turning the area next to the dam in Tameside into a \u2018edible, educational landscape\u2019, Silversprings Primary Academy (\u00a337,882)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Stockport<\/p>\n
\n- Cascade Garden, transforming the \u2018tired, unused space\u2019 around Stopford House into an exciting new garden. Easy Peel Studio CIC (\u00a310,600)<\/li>\n
- From Car Park To Food Park, turning a \u2018fly-tipping prone\u2019 12-space car park in Edgeley into a \u2018playful\u2019 food park, by Actions Common CIC (\u00a336,267)<\/li>\n
- All aboard for Brinnington, bringing colour to a \u2018run down\u2019 spot in Brinnington with murals, benches and blooms, part of the Marple Youth Project (\u00a314,500)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Trafford<\/p>\n
\n- Greening the Broomwood, a looped access trail connected by QR codes on themed carved wooden totems around Broomwood, by Timperley Civic Society (\u00a340,000)<\/li>\n
- Make Gorse Hill Greener, a project to redesign the three parks: Gorse Hill, Marje Kelly and Nansen, by Friends of Marje Kelly Park (\u00a339,666)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Manchester<\/p>\n
\n- Blanchard Gardens, aiming to turn a triangle of land \u2018currently used for illegal parking\u2019 into a pocket garden with raised beds, benches, and a mini library, by Sustainable Communities Hulme (\u00a320,584)<\/li>\n
- Parsonage Pocket Park, Withington, a new community pocket park from what is currently a dead-end road, by Withington Village Regeneration Partnership (\u00a340,000)<\/li>\n
- South Street Community Garden, a new community garden with volunteer gardening clubs, wellbeing programmes, and educational workshops, by St Barnabas Parent, Teacher and Community Association (\u00a314,250)<\/li>\n
- MaCO Garden of Hope, a \u2018safe, therapeutic space\u2019 where refugees and local residents can grow fresh produce, learn gardening skills, by the Manchester Congolese Organisation (\u00a329,598)<\/li>\n
- Biodiversity for Wellbeing in Rodney Fields, a project to make the local park more inviting by removing brambles and planting trees, by Friends of Rodney Fields (\u00a315,000)<\/li>\n
