{"id":661202,"date":"2025-12-29T22:55:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T22:55:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/661202\/"},"modified":"2025-12-29T22:55:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T22:55:12","slug":"local-mp-launches-survey-over-kingsknowe-pedestrian-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/661202\/","title":{"rendered":"Local MP launches survey over Kingsknowe pedestrian bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A LOCAL Edinburgh MP has launched a survey for a pedestrian footbridge over\u00a0Kingsknowe\u00a0railway station.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dr Scott Arthur, MP for Edinburgh\u00a0South West, announced the survey on his social media accounts after communication with one of his constituents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The proposal would build a pedestrian footbridge over\u00a0Kingsknowe\u00a0level crossing, which stands next to railway station.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a video shared on his social media channels, Arthur said that a resident contacted him\u00a0stating\u00a0that\u00a0\u201cthey are inconvenienced\u00a0too much by the barriers coming\u00a0down,\u00a0and\u00a0are quite keen to get a pedestrian bridge here for people to be able to cross the line.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Arthur then continues to\u00a0state\u00a0that he and his team contacted Network Rail, the owner of most railway infrastructure across the UK, to inquire about the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deadlinenews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2048px-Kingsknowe_station_Shotts_Line_Edinburgh._View_east-e1767024197276.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" data-dominant-color=\"7f898c\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #7f898c;\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"station\" class=\"wp-image-1253238 not-transparent\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2048px-Kingsknowe_station_Shotts_Line_Edinburgh._View_east.jpg\"\/><\/a>The proposal could help commuting times in and around the station.<\/p>\n<p>According to Arthur, Network Rail responded that they are \u201cinterested in the issue, just to try to improve local connectivity.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the posts, Arthur goes on to state that\u00a0multiple residents have\u00a0gotten in touch with\u00a0him over the matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He wrote: \u201cMany of you have shared concerns about delays at the crossing and the impact on daily life.
