\n From the start of next week (January 5), meteorologists suggest that Bradford is set for five days of snow – with sleet to follow at the weekend.\n<\/p>\n
\n According to BBC Weather, temperatures in and around the city are predicted to sit between one and three degrees during the day, with night time temperatures reaching a low of minus two degrees.\n<\/p>\n
\n An amber cold health alert has been issued for the North East and North West of England from 8pm on Sunday to 12pm on January 5 with temperatures expected to fall to around 3-5C.\n<\/p>\n
\n Bradford, along with other northern parts of England, are expected to bear the brunt of the chillier conditions from January 1, with brisk winds bringing increasingly wintry showers to the north as the week progresses.\n<\/p>\n
\n Forecaster Dan Stroud said: \u201cWe\u2019re losing this sort of settled but chilly conditions, and bringing in something a little bit more showery with more wintry hazards in the forecast, particularly for the north of the country.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said the UK may also see \u201cimpacts on younger people\u201d and there will likely be an \u201cincrease in demand for health services\u201d across the regions.\n<\/p>\n
\n Dr Agostinho Sousa, head of extreme events and health protection at UKHSA, said: \u201cAs the colder weather sets in it is vital to check in on friends, family and neighbours that are most vulnerable.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThe forecasted temperatures can have a serious impact on the health of some people, leading to increased risk of heart attacks, strokes and chest infections, particularly for individuals over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
