{"id":661331,"date":"2025-12-30T00:22:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T00:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/661331\/"},"modified":"2025-12-30T00:22:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T00:22:09","slug":"bristol-midwife-amazed-to-receive-obe-in-new-year-honours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/661331\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol midwife &#8220;amazed&#8221; to receive OBE in New Year Honours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Taylor has been awarded a knighthood in recognition of his work to tackle educational inequality in the south west.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He is chief executive officer of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), a multi-academy trust founded in Bristol, but now operating 36 schools between Gloucestershire and Somerset.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">During his 11 years in the role, the CLF has tripled in size to serve more than 18,000 young people. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The formal citation from the Cabinet Office said: &#8220;Under his leadership, CLF has transformed schools in East Central Bristol, once among the most underperforming areas, into thriving learning communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Taylor said: &#8220;A real benefit of being recognised in this way is it puts teaching and education in the spotlight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s just a fabulous career and I hear people grumbling about teenagers occasionally, and I just don&#8217;t see it.
