A Corrie icon, a legendary football commentator and several Lionnesses from Greater Manchester have all been recognised in the King’s New Year Honours list. Local community champions, charity bosses and public servants also feature on the annual list in 2026.<\/p>\n
A number of local NHS bosses have received honours this year alongside a senior officer at Greater Manchester Police. Manchester council leader Bev Craig is also on the list, alongside Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham’s transport advisor Vernon Everitt.<\/p>\n
