Amid his ongoing rift with Prince Harry, royal expert Jennie Bond reveals that what should have been a time of celebration is instead shadowed by great ‘sadness’. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are gearing up to celebrate Prince Archie’s sixth birthday on May 6. However, it’s doubtful that any royal family members will be in attendance. Charles reportedly is upset as he is largely a stranger to Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Article continues below advertisement

The King has met Lilibet just once and has seen Archie just a few times. As reported by GB News, royal expert Bond said, “He [Charles] always loved Harry. He called him ‘darling boy’. And I’m sure he still loves Harry and would love even more to be able to spend time with Archie and Lilibet. Charles is a sentimental man and a doting grandfather to George, Charlotte, and Louis.” As reported by The Mirror, the expert added, “I’m sure as his struggle with cancer continues, he thinks more about the great loss of not being able to spend time with Harry’s children.”

Article continues below advertisement

Bond also reflected on the fading relationship between Harry and his brother, Prince William. There was once hope that the brothers would stay close, watching their children grow up together. While Bond suggests the royal brothers may still think of it at times, there’s no indication currently that the cousins will ever have the chance to meet. He explained, “Harry probably has more time and reason than William to think about the rift that he has caused, and I’m sure it is a great sadness to him.” For now, Harry remains happy in his Montecito life with Meghan Markle and their two kids.

Article continues below advertisement

Bond went on to say, “However, it would be very nice if the King, William, and Catherine marked young Archie‘s sixth birthday in some way. After all, it’s not the poor little lad’s fault that all this has happened. So, I hope that, either publicly or privately, they do at least send the little boy their good wishes.” Though the details of Archie’s birthday plans remain under wraps, if past celebrations are any indication, it’s likely to be a low-key event with close friends and family (Markle’s), as reported by Hello! magazine.

Article continues below advertisement

Chances are, Archie’s big day will be celebrated at the Sussexes’ California home. Although it’s become somewhat of a norm for prominent members of the British royal family to post birthday greetings online, Archie might not receive any. The reason is that only the birthdays of active, working royals are acknowledged on the official social media channels.

Source: Getty Images | Matt Dunham Prince Harry and King Charles at Fishmongers Hall on February 14, 2018,…

[7708
7709,7730,7731,7716,1760,1501,7710,519
0":"post-66218","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-royals","8":"tag-british-royal-family","9":"tag-charles","10":"tag-charles-iii","11":"tag-heirs-spares","12":"tag-king-charles","13":"tag-latest-news","14":"tag-royal-families","15":"tag-royal-family
["GET
