Not so much.<\/p>\n<p>During a Wednesday Hot Topics segment on \u201cThe View,\u201d Goldberg took a swipe at the latest kerfuffle involving Markle. In a sarcastic manner, she introduced a year-old story about Markle sending a friend a homemade gift, complete with a note signed, \u201cHer Royal Highness.\u201d\u00a0According to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/meghan-markle-used-royal-title-hrh-gift-friend-11723963\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:People;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">People<\/a>, the conversation became top of mind when Markle appeared on Monday\u2019s episode of the podcast \u201cThe Jamie Kern Lima Show,\u201d where the host mentioned the thoughtful gift and revealed the note that had accompanied it.<\/p>\n<p>The comedian joked that the gesture had reportedly caught the ire of Prince William, given that Markle and Prince Harry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/meghan-markle-prince-harry-royal-exit_n_5e8340a1c5b603fbdf49915d#:~:text=The%20Duke%20and%20Duchess%20of,31%20exit%20from%20the%20monarchy.&amp;text=Meghan%20Markle%20and%20Prince%20Harry,working%20members%20of%20the%20monarchy.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:stepped back from official Royal duties;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">stepped back from official Royal duties<\/a> in 2020 \u2014 a move that continues to ruffle more than palace curtains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamn them!\u201d Goldberg exclaimed sarcastically, clearly siding with the couple\u2019s decision to leave their duties in the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caas-img caas-lazy has-preview\" alt=\"From Left: Comedian Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan Markle\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/c8f2b0ca05e8dae528196445ab7e6ed7.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>From Left: Comedian Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan Markle Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>She then elaborated William\u2019s alleged indignation:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has reportedly enraged the heir to the throne, Prince William, who wants to officially strip their behinds of the title once and for all,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing in her droll tone, Goldberg turned to her fellow panelist: \u201cIs it a bad look for Meghan to still refer to herself as a royal?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-host Sunny Hostin responded, \u201cNo. No it\u2019s not,\u201d only to be cut off by Goldberg\u2019s swift response, \u201cThere you are,\u201d signaling her dismissal of the did segment.<\/p>\n<p>But Hostin wasn\u2019t finished. The litigator-turned-commentator pressed on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWake me up when you\u2019re done,\u201d Goldberg said.<\/p>\n<p>Hostin then defended Markle\u2019s note.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not,\u201d Hostin said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it is because the agreement that was made did not remove the title. It restricted the way it was to be used. It was not to be used publicly. And she was giving a friend some strawberry jam that she made herself.
