The second part of Jon M Chu\u2019s big-screen adaptation will be released on digital platforms in the UK on 2 January 2026.<\/p>\n
Based on the hit novel\u00a0Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West\u00a0by Gregory Maguire,\u00a0Wicked\u00a0tells the story of two unlikely university friends in the land of Oz, one destined to become Glinda the Good and the other, the Wicked Witch of the West.\u00a0Wicked\u00a0writers Winnie Holzman (book) and Stephen Schwartz (score) collaborated on the screenplay with Dana Fox.<\/p>\n
It stars Cynthia Erivo<\/a> as Elphaba and Ariana Grande<\/a> as Glinda, with Jonathan Bailey<\/a> as Fiyero, alongside Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Tony nominee Ethan Slater<\/a> as Boq, Marissa Bode as Nessarose, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz, and Peter Dinklage as Dr Dillamond.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The film received glowing reviews,\u00a0including from WhatsOnStage<\/a>.<\/p>\n After being released in cinemas in November, it will be available to buy and rent in the UK from 2 January 2026.
