{"id":662588,"date":"2025-12-30T13:58:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T13:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/662588\/"},"modified":"2025-12-30T13:58:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T13:58:13","slug":"tired-nhs-staff-benefit-from-south-yorkshire-sleep-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/662588\/","title":{"rendered":"Tired NHS staff benefit from South Yorkshire sleep trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">As part of the trial, staff were given a specially designed pillow and asked to fill in a detailed survey before later speaking to sleep posture expert James Leinhardt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Leinhardt has spent 15 years in the NHS working with patients with complex injuries, before educating people on sleep and spinal health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ms Baker said: &#8220;It was a robust, in-depth questionnaire with different pictures asking about sleeping positions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I then had a discussion with James about how I sleep and he was really knowledgeable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He unpicked that I was sleeping in an incorrect position which was causing some pain.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ms Baker said that as a result she had been advised to use extra pillows to help with hip pain and neck alignment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It has made such a difference. It&#8217;s so much easier to get to sleep, and when I wake up I&#8217;m not in pain.
