The youngest child of an EastEnders<\/a> star ended up being taken to hospital after “projectile” vomiting, the actor’s wife has announced. The family are said to have then received a “stark warning” from a doctor following a diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n Victoria Bye, 42, who has four children with James Bye<\/a>, 41 – who played Martin Fowler on the BBC<\/a> show for more than a decade – shared recently that toddler Rufus, one, became unwell during half term last month. She wrote about it on Instagram<\/a> alongside some photos from a previous holiday, with her teasing that they represented “happier times”.<\/p>\n In the caption, Victoria – who often keeps fans updated on their family through the platform – said that Rufus was diagnosed with gastroenteritis whilst the family spent some time at the home of James’ parents. She suggested that a doctor’s warning that it was “contagious” proved to be right, with Victoria teasing that she later ended up unwell herself.<\/p>\n Victoria wrote in her post last month: “It all started earlier this week, when just before bed the boys were outside on the trampoline. And I’ve said it before, (and I’ll say it again), those bloody trampolines will be the end of me.<\/p>\n “And as I’m watching, somewhat half-heartedly (let’s be honest, I’m shattered, it’s half term, James is working & there’s only so many ‘Mummy watch me’s’ I can take) when Rufus, who was happily playing with a trail of ants (whatever keeps him quiet) suddenly clambered up & in slow motion took a spin, promptly landing on his head. After much crying (and frantic checking of doctor Google<\/a>) he seemed to be ok & calling it a day, I thankfully got them all to bed.”<\/p>\n She continued by saying that just hours later the toddler woke up “projectile” vomiting. Victoria said they ended up going to A&E, adding that they were later discharged with a diagnosis of gastroenteritis, also known as ‘stomach flu’.<\/p>\n Victoria wrote in the caption: “Cue him waking up a few hours later projectile vomming everywhere. Quick phone call to 111 & to A&E we went. 12 hours later (and several more voms) the doctor discharged us citing gastroenteritis.”<\/p>\n She went on to tell her followers at the time: “Now, it’s fair to say I was a tad sceptical about this diagnosis. Especially with her stark warning at how contagious it was.” She however added: “Needless to say. I then ate my words.”<\/p>\n Further writing on the platform, Victoria continued: “Over the next few days there has been a vom-fest the likes of which I’ve never seen before. I’m talking up the walls, in the door frame, all over the carpet & bum squits galore.”<\/p>\n She said the family were staying with James’ parents at the time. She added that their blind dog brought “his own level of incontinence” to the home and “stood in the corner headbutting the wall”. She said: “It’s been a s**t show \u2013 literally.”<\/p>\n Victoria said: “And as I write this, (I’ve just got home – the grandparents waved me off gladly) and I’m now wrapped in a blanket, have sweat out half my body weight (every cloud and all) & haven’t managed to keep more than a cuppa down in days. And Edward’s just appeared looking green.”<\/p>\n James was among those who liked the post and he also reacted in the comments section. Alongside a nauseous-looking emoji, he teased to his wife: “Did I mention I’m staying away for the rest of the week.” Beside a laughing emoji, Victoria replied: “Nice try … you’re on poo duty.”<\/p>\n The following day, Victoria shared in an update to fans: “Still in the trenches here with this dreaded sickness malarkey … thank you honestly for all your get well wishes.” She then teased: “I’m trying not to complain too much.”<\/p>\n Like this story?
